Mother Daughter Main Salmon
September 29, 2025
Adventure. Connection. Empowerment. Together.

August 9, 2026 will mark the date of our first Mother Daughter river trip in collaboration with Keely’s Camp! We could not be more excited about this special offering which will be an incredible bonding trip for mothers and daughters on the Main Salmon in Idaho’s Frank Church Wilderness.
It is important for mothers to have opportunities to spend time with their daughters in the wilderness. Sometimes a new environment is exactly what is needed to effectively impart wisdom while also handing down some hard skills for young women to gain an empowered mindset. This trip will facilitate both with several fun educational workshops to sharpen river skills:
-Rapid Scouting- The Art of Reading Water
-Knot Tying
-Basic River Safety Skills, Equipment, Basic Mechanical Advantage, Throw Bag Safety
-River Communication
As mothers, we know that wisdom doesn’t always come in a manual form or hard skills clinic. This trip will build community and provide a safe and open environment for wisdom to travel. Just as we will have structured educational workshops, we will mostly have freeform fun with campfire circles and peaceful and exciting floating. The river trip has always been known for creating the perfect conditions for people to connect on a much deeper level; with one’s self, one another and with the natural world. The mother daughter relationship is sacred and this trip will rewire neural pathways and open up a world of possibility with a new script for connection. Unplug and disconnect, and come have some fun with your daughter next summer!

We partnered with Keely’s Camp on this trip and we couldn’t be more excited! Keely’s camp was created by Keely Keleher (World Cup alpine ski racer), as a response to a male dominated coaching dynamic in ski racing. Keely never had a female ski coach, and realized this was a problem for young women growing up in the sport. Without positive female role models, many young women quit the sport early. She created all girls ski camps with female coaches to help address this issue. Keely’s camp has offered all girls ski camps for 14 years with an all female staff and have coached thousands of girls from all over the world!
Keely’s Camp Mission: To empower, educate and connect the next generation of girls in skiing and outdoor sports.
“Well, that’s cool, but this is the river?”
Yep! Keely is also a white water kayaker and has done several kayaking and river based classes as well. In the face of COVID, she paired down operations and hasn’t done a river camp since…which is why we are more than honored and excited to be able to help revive Keely’s Camp on the river, orchestrating this one! This trip will be a float trip with the opportunity to float on an oar boat (the guide rows), paddle boat (where everyone paddles and a guide calls out directions from the back) and inflatable kayaks for the more adventurous and independent spirits! People can try all of the flavors, or request dedicated inflatable kayaks. We will keep the spirit true by having an all female crew for this trip- Yay!
